Privacy Policy for Astrocycles

Astrocycles (“we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what data the app processes locally on your device, what limited data may be collected by third-party partners, and your choices.

1) Information You Enter (Stored Only on Your Device)

Astrocycles is designed so that your astrology data remains on your device. We do not transmit it to our servers.

How it’s used: Solely to generate charts, sky windows, and interpretations inside the app.

1.1 Optional Device Location Use

Astrocycles may request optional foreground device location (GPS or network-based) to automatically calculate accurate astronomical data such as sunrise, moonrise, and current planet visibility. This permission is:

Optional – You may deny location and still use the app.
Foreground-only – The app does not access location in the background.
User-initiated – Requested when you tap an in-app control (e.g., “Update current location”).
Local-only – Your approximate location is used on-device for calculations and is not sent to our servers or stored by us.
Purpose-limited – Used only for sky calculations and shown inside the app.

You can disable location access anytime in your Android system settings.

2) Advertising, Analytics & Third-Party Data

We do not collect or upload your astrology inputs to our servers. The app integrates third-party SDKs that may process limited device/app data for advertising, analytics, and diagnostics:

Analytics & Diagnostics (Firebase)

We use Google Analytics for Firebase (aggregated app analytics) and Firebase Crashlytics (crash reporting). These services may process:

Identifiers: app-instance ID and, where available, Android Advertising ID (AAID) or app-set ID.
App events: first open, updates, session data, feature usage counts (aggregated).
Diagnostics: crash logs and stability signals.

Used to understand app performance and fix issues. Data are transmitted by Google services using industry-standard transport encryption.

Advertising (AdMob)

Astrocycles displays ads using the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob). AdMob may collect certain device and app-interaction data to serve and measure ads.

What AdMob may collect

Identifiers: Android Advertising ID (AAID) or similar.
Approximate location (derived from IP) for regional ad compliance.
App interactions: ad impressions, clicks.
Device & diagnostics: error logs, OS version.

These data points are processed by Google/AdMob under their privacy policy and used for advertising/marketing, analytics/measurement, and fraud prevention/security/compliance. Data are transmitted using industry-standard transport encryption.

Personalized vs. Non-Personalized Ads

Consent-based personalization (EEA/UK/CH and where required): We use Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP), a TCF-certified consent solution. When you grant consent, AdMob may use data (e.g., AAID, app interactions) to show more relevant ads. If you deny or withdraw consent, the app requests non-personalized or limited ads.
Outside consent regions: We honor your device settings (e.g., “Opt out of Ads Personalization”). You can also reset your Advertising ID.

3) Do We Share or Sell Your Location?

No. If you grant location access, Astrocycles uses it only on your device and never sells or shares GPS location with third parties. AdMob may infer approximate region from IP for ad delivery, but we do not provide your GPS location to AdMob.

4) Do We Share or Sell Your Astrology Data?

No. Your astrology inputs (birth details, notes, etc.) stay on your device and are not sent to us. We do not sell your personal data.

Ad delivery and analytics/diagnostics involve limited device/app data being sent directly to Google (AdMob/Firebase) to provide, measure, secure, and improve services. This is typical for free apps using third-party SDKs.

5) Your Choices & Controls

Consent (EEA/UK/CH): Manage ad consent via the UMP consent prompt. You can revisit choices in app settings if provided, or by reinstalling/resetting consent where supported.
Android ad personalization: On your device go to Settings > Google > Ads (or similar) to opt out of Ads Personalization and/or reset your Advertising ID (AAID).
Location: You can disable location permissions for Astrocycles in Android Settings.
Data deletion (local): You can delete your astrology entries in the app. Because we don’t host your astrology data, removing the app (or clearing its storage) removes that local data.
Requests about analytics/diagnostics data: You may contact us with your Android Advertising ID (AAID) so we can reasonably route a deletion/objection request to our providers where supported.

6) Legal Bases (EEA/UK)

Personalized advertising: Consent.
Non-personalized ads, measurement & fraud prevention: Legitimate interests (and/or compliance obligations) of our advertising partners.
Basic analytics & crash reporting (Firebase): Legitimate interests in app performance, quality, and security.

7) Children’s Privacy

Astrocycles is not directed to children under 13 (or the age of digital consent in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8) Security

Your astrology data remains on your device. We recommend using device security features (passcode/biometrics) and OS updates to protect your information. Data sent by third-party SDKs (e.g., AdMob/Firebase) is transmitted using industry-standard transport encryption.

9) Retention

Astrology data you enter is stored locally until you delete it or uninstall the app. Ad/analytics data retention is controlled by Google (AdMob/Firebase) per their policies (for ads measurement, fraud prevention, and regulatory compliance).

10) International Transfers

Google (AdMob/Firebase) may process limited device/ad/analytics data on servers located outside your country. See Google’s policies for details on safeguards used for international transfers.

11) Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Updates will be posted here with a new “Last Updated” date.
